Ap\u00f3s uma passagem r\u00e1pida pelos Grin, lan\u00e7ou-se numa carreira a solo relativamente bem sucedida, assinalada pela grava\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1lbuns de rock \u201cmainstream\u201d (\u201cGrin\u201d, \u201cNils Lofgren\u201d, \u201cBack iy up\u201d, \u201cCry Tough\u201d, \u201cNight Fades Away\u201d ou \u201cWonderland\u201d, entre outros), que lhe valeram o estatuto de \u201cguitar hero\u201d capaz de proezas acrob\u00e1ticas, como tocar de costas em salto de trampolim ou, segundo reza a lenda, de prodigiosos triplos saltos mortais com \u201cflic flac\u201d \u00e0 retaguarda. Entrou para a E Street Band, de Bruce Springsteen, e parece que ficou mais sossegado. Agora regressa a solo com \u201cSilver Lining\u201d, mas n\u00e3o h\u00e1 nada de particularmente interessante a registar \u2013 o mesmo \u201crock \u2018n\u2019 rol\u201d honesto de sempre, as mesmas baladas agrad\u00e1veis e in\u00f3cuas, o virtuosismo guitarr\u00edstico que se lhe reconhece. Uma refer\u00eancia final para a lista de convidados especiais: Bruce Springsteen, Levon Helm, Billy Preston e Ringo Starr.
