Est\u00e3o nos ant\u00edpodas dos The Cast: onde estes jogam da suavidade e na subtileza, os The Iron Horse preferem aumentar o volume dos sequeciandores e saturar as vozes com efeitos de \u201cmultitracking\u201d e reverbera\u00e7\u00e3o. \u201cVoice of the Land\u201d tem por base a banda sonora que o grupo comp\u00f4s para a s\u00e9rie da BBC \u201cThe Gamekeeper\u201d, em que a m\u00fasica retrata a vida selvagem e o clima da regi\u00e3o do atol de Blair. H\u00e1 fus\u00f5es eletr\u00f3nicas de ritmos computadorizados com canto ga\u00e9lico, guitarras el\u00e9tricas sintetizadas, algumas boas gaitadas encaixadas nos sequenciadores de ritmo e at\u00e9 \u201chip hop\u201d c\u00e9ltico. O quinteto toca uma variedade de instrumentos, incluindo rabeca, sintetizadores, \u201cwhistles\u201d, v\u00e1rios tipos de gaita de foles escocesa, das \u201csmall pipes\u201d \u00e0s \u201chalf long pipes\u201d, bandolim, cistro, bouzouki eletrificado, sequenciadores de ritmo, guitarras, baixo el\u00e9trico e percuss\u00e3o.
