Mas n\u00e3o \u00e9 bom guitarrista? \u00c9 um \u00f3ptimo guitarrista! Ent\u00e3o e a m\u00fasica? Tecnicamente perfeita. S\u00f3? Pois \u00e9\u2026 Falta a este bom rapaz da \u201cdowntown\u201d um cora\u00e7\u00e3o, tripas, um esgar de mau humor. Ao vivo (j\u00e1 o vimos com Zorn, compenetrado nas suas matem\u00e1ticas, enquanto o mestre vomitava no saxofone), neste caso, no teatro Lope de Vega, em Sevilha, nos Terceros Encuentros de Nueva Musica, pouco mudou no seu \u201capproach\u201d de t\u00e9cnico laboratorial que conhece todos os cantos da sua guitarra. Swing \u00e9 palavra que n\u00e3o consta no vocabul\u00e1rio de Bill Frisell. Abstraccionista, falta-lhe a puls\u00e3o anarquista e convulsiva de um Elliott Sharp ou de um Christy Doran. Esteta, n\u00e3o tem a largueza de vis\u00e3o dos contemplativos da ECM como John Abercrombie ou Ralph Towner. Acad\u00e9mico, embora encapotado, falta-lhe a polival\u00eancia de um Terje Rypdal ou de um Pat Metheny. \u201cLive\u201d poderia ser, ao menos, um espa\u00e7o de comunica\u00e7\u00e3o e di\u00e1logo entre os tr\u00eas m\u00fasicos, vers\u00e3o \u201cpower trio\u201d, com o baixo de Driscoll e a bateria do pau para toda a obra que \u00e9 Joey Baron, no contexto das \u201cnovas m\u00fasicas\u201d. Infelizmente, o estilo de Bill Frisell caracteriza-se pelo autismo. Os outros aguentam o barco, v\u00e3o atr\u00e1s e acrescentam os pormenores de esbo\u00e7os cuja articula\u00e7\u00e3o obedece, de forma absolutamente coerente, ao conceito \u201cverbo de encher\u201d.
