Joan Baez jogou a cartada da conten\u00e7\u00e3o e de uma boa escolha de autores e acertou. N\u00e3o quer dizer que \u201cPlay me Backwards\u201d seja um disco de bradar aos c\u00e9us, longe disso. Mas \u00e9 uma obra asseada, que se deixa ouvir com agrado do princ\u00edpio ao fim e, sobretudo, que jamais exala o inc\u00f3modo odor a naftalina. Mary-Chapin Carpenter, a nova coqueluche da \u201ccountry\u201d, ofereceu \u00e0 sobrevivente de Woodstock \u201cStones in the road\u201d, mas os melhores momentos do \u00e1lbum acabam por ser a lenta e bel\u00edssima balada \u201cSteal across the border\u201d, o apontamento afrogospel de \u201cIsaac &#038; Abraham\u201d e uma \u201cDream song\u201d arranjada sobre quarteto de cordas que Elvis Costello faria bem em ouvir. A velha senhora est\u00e1 para durar.
