Cole toca \u201cpedal steel guitar\u201d (\u201cguitarra de a\u00e7o, de pedal\u201d n\u00e3o soa bem\u2026), instrumento vulgarmente utilizado na m\u00fasica \u201ccountry\u201d e aqui adaptado a um formato orquestral. Da \u201ccountry\u201d, B. J. Cole deslizou para oceanos mais serenos, tendo participado no duplo \u201cThe Serpent (In the Quicksilver)\/Abandoned Cities\u201d, de Harold Budd. \u201cTransparent Music\u201d mant\u00e9m-se fiel ao estilo daquele pianista: serenas divaga\u00e7\u00f5es ambientais, de t\u00edtulos t\u00e3o belos e evocativos como \u201cWindow on the Deep\u201d, \u201cSun Tear Serenade\u201d e \u201cEly Cathedral\u201d. Varia\u00e7\u00f5es sobre temas de Debussy (\u201cClair de Lune\u201d), Ravel (\u201cPavane pour une enfant defunte\u201d e Satie (\u201cGnossiennes\u201d, n\u00ba 3 e 5) tornam ainda mais transparente um disco de beleza espectral.
